Cheer Squads

The new cheer teams for 2015 are development teams.  This means that their goal is to develop strong level 1 skills in tumbling, jumps, and stunts.  Once these skills are consistently being met they will begin to progress up to level 2 skills.  The goal for 2015 is not to compete in as many competitions as possible, but to instead create a solid foundation which will help athletes be successful in the 2016 competition season. Without the pressure to compete right away, our athletes can focus on skills and simply having fun!  In the long run we believe that this will result in the most rewarding and successful experience for our teams. Teams will have opportunities to perform at local events as well as at the end of year ECDA showcase no matter what though! There are 3 cheer development teams for this year; youth (8-13yrs), senior (13-17yrs), and open (18+).  Trainings will consist of a warm up, jumps and motions training, dance, flexibility, tumbling, and stunting as well as a strength and conditioning component added in each week. 

 

Group stunt focuses solely on stunting development.  Athletes will work towards progressing through skill levels as they learn proper stunting techniques and different stunt sequences.  Groups of 4-5 can work towards learning a group stunt routine which they can chose to enter in competitions for the 2015 season.
